They are designed for automatic monitoring, regulation and protection of various power and technological installations and processes with the issuance of a local light alarm and a discrete command (closing or opening the corresponding contacts of the output relays) for each control channel when the controlled parameters reach the set values and directions of operation according to:

- temperature of the coolant, oil and fuel (PKT. PKTK, PKT-2, PKT2u, PKT3u, PKT-BI, PKT2u-BI, PKT3u-BI and temperature control channels (T) in PKT-D, PKT-UM, PKT-UZH devices));

- oil and air pressure (PKD, PKD-2, PKD2u, PKD3u and pressure control channels (D) in PKT-D, PKD-UM, PKD-UZH devices);

- oil and fuel levels (PKU-M, PKU-M-2, and channels (UM) or (M) for oil level control in PKT-UM, PKD-UM, PKU-M-Z devices);

- the level of coolant (PKU-Zh, PKU-Zh-2, PKU2u-BI and channels (U) or (W) for monitoring the level of coolant in PKT-UH, PKD-UH, PKU-M-Zh devices);

- the rotation frequency (PKCHV, PKCHV-S, PKCHV-BI).
